Math & CS Tutoring

I offer both tutoring (supplemental instruction) and lessons (primary instruction) in mathematics and computer science. This can include:

  • homework help
  • catching up / filling in gaps
  • support for remote learning
  • building study strategies
  • support for students with learning disabilities
  • test prep (SAT, ACT, GRE, and MTELs)
  • homeschooling instruction
  • independent or advanced study

Math

red calculatorI approach mathematics instruction with the belief that all students are capable of succeeding in math with the right tools and support. I help students overcome math difficulties by focusing on foundational skills and strategies, building confidence, and helping students develop a growth mindset.

I have experience working with students in middle school, high school, and college (including 300-level classes). I’m happy to work with students with learning disabilities, including dyscalculia, to help build number sense, problem-solving skills, and the ability to persist through challenges or frustration.

Computer Science

computer monitor, keyboard, and mouseI teach computer science and programming using a problem-solving approach that empowers students (ages 10-adult) to develop their own algorithms and projects from the start. Learn more about the possibilities for computer science lessons here.

I can also support students taking computer science classes at the elementary, high school, or college level. In addition to learning the syntax of a programming language, I help students master the underlying skills needed for computer programming, including logic, algorithms, and creative problem-solving. Students with learning disabilities are welcome; I’m happy to help develop learning strategies that work for each individual mind.

Logistics

Location: I am currently working remotely (via Zoom) or in person (masked at a public location, or mask-optional in your fully-vaccinated & boosted home). I may pivot to entirely remote if the covid situation worsens.

Cost: I offer a sliding scale. Learn about my sliding scale and policies. I accept checks, PayPal, Venmo, or Cash app.
