Learn computer science and programming with a one-on-one, custom paced tutorial! This is a great option for beginning or experienced students (ages 10 through adult). These tutorials can follow the track of the Holyoke Codes Python classes, or we can approach it more free-form, focusing on the skills you want to learn or the projects you want to create.

  • Skills include: computational thinking, program planning, debugging, algorithms, psuedocode, digital color, data structures, and others.
  • Languages include: Python, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, p5.js, Processing.py, and SQL.

I have exercises, games, and projects designed to practice certain skills, but we can also work backwards from a project or game idea to build the skills necessary to make it happen!

In my experience, 60-90min is the ideal length for a session—long enough to make progress and short enough to avoid overwhelm. I offer 90min sessions on a sliding scale from $150-55, and 60min sessions $100-40. (If you’d like to do a group tutorial or a different duration, we can discuss pricing for that.) For long-term tutorials, I recommend meeting once or twice a week to keep the material fresh in your mind.
